PS ENGAGES JERSEY CONSTRUCTION COUNCIL, ADVOCATES FOR EXPANDED JOB OPPORTUNITIES FOR KENYANS

Tuesday, May 20, 2025(JERSEY)__Ms. Roseline K. Njogu, Principal Secretary for Diaspora Affairs, held a strategic meeting in Jersey with leaders from the Jersey Construction Council, an organization that employs Kenyan workers across several companies on the island, including Geomarine.
The discussions focused on broadening employment prospects for Kenyans and ensuring the ongoing protection and welfare of Kenyan workers abroad.
Representatives from Geomarine commended the professionalism and strong work ethic of their Kenyan staff, expressing a keen interest of engaging more Kenyans.
During her visit, the PS also met with a number of Kenyan employees currently working at Geomarine, engaging with them to assess their well-being.
PS Njogu reiterated the Kenyan Government’s commitment to supporting safe and organized labour migration, emphasizing its importance in empowering individuals, enhancing socio-economic development, and leveraging the skills and expertise gained abroad.
The PS was accompanied by Hon. Lydia Haika, Member of Parliament and Chair of the Diaspora & Migrant Workers Committee, as well as Hon. Bashir Sheikh Abdullahi, Member of Parliament and Member of the Departmental Committee on Defence, Intelligence & Foreign Relations. #KaziMajuu #KenyaJerseyTies
