Tuesday, May 20, 2025(JERSEY)__The Government of Kenya has made a notable move to promote ethical labour mobility and global workforce integration following a high-level meeting between Diaspora Affairs PS Roseline K. Njogu, CBS, and the Jersey Hospitality Association.
Held in Jersey, the discussions centered on forming a partnership to enable the recruitment of skilled Kenyan professionals for Jersey’s hospitality sector. During the engagement, PS Njogu highlighted Kenya’s capacity to provide a well-trained and motivated workforce—including chefs, hotel managers, and service staff—who meet international hospitality standards.
The delegation examined ways to collaborate that would help address labour shortages in Jersey’s hotels and restaurants, while also ensuring Kenyan workers receive fair employment conditions, effective integration, and opportunities for professional growth.
Further, the talks included plans to establish frameworks for cultural exchange, training collaborations, and ongoing cooperation between Kenyan institutions such as Kenya Utalii College and the Jersey Hospitality Association.
This initiative aligns with the Kenyan government’s broader strategy to expand ethical overseas job opportunities and enhance local expertise through international exposure. #KaziMajuu #KenyaJerseyTies
