NAIROBI EDITION OF THE DIASPORA JOB FAIR

12thFebruary 2025(NAIROBI)__The Nairobi Edition of the Diaspora Job Fair commenced today at the Paramount Chief Kinyanjui Technical Training Institute in Dagoretti South, Nairobi.
This significant event brought together recruitment agencies, job seekers, government agencies involved in the labor chain, and both state and non-state entities.
Diaspora Affairs Principal Secretary, Ms. Roseline K. Njogu, presided over the event and encouraged Kenyans to visit the booths and seize the job opportunities presented during the two-day fair.
Hosted by Hon. John Kiarie, MP for Dagoretti South, PS Njogu urged attendees to acquire relevant skills to explore opportunities in Kazi Kwa Ground, Kazi Mtandaoni, and Kazi Majuu.
PS Njogu emphasized the importance of using licensed government-approved recruitment agencies and verifying job offers through the National Employment Authority website to avoid exploitation. She also highlighted the role of the Diaspora Placement Agency (DPA) under the State Department for Diaspora Affairs in providing additional guidance.
The PS raised awareness about human trafficking concerns in Southeast Asia, cautioning Kenyans to exercise vigilance when considering job offers from the region.
At the same forum, Hon. John Kiarie encouraged youth to leverage digital and ICT hubs across Kenya to enhance their digital skills and explore remote job opportunities.
Additionally, Ms. Lucy Anampiu, Principal of PC Kinyanjui TTI, announced plans to implement prior learning recognition certifications to certify skilled youth with prior knowledge, enabling them to compete in the global labor market.
