12th February 2025(Bangkok)__As the successful Mobile Consular Services (MCS) exercise in Bangkok, Thailand, concludes, the team provided a range of vital services to Kenyans, including passports and birth certificates applications, application and replacement of ID cards, among others.
To support the Kenyan Embassy staff in Thailand, a counseling session was conducted by Mr. Peter Burugu, Head of the Counselling Unit, to promote mental wellness.
The session sought to address challenges faced by embassy staff during rescue missions of Kenyans trafficked to Myanmar through Thailand, many of whom have undergone torture and dangerous escapes.
Amb. Lindsay Kiptiness commended the effectiveness and timeliness of the MCS exercise and expressed gratitude to the state department for facilitating the program.
He also cautioned Kenyans to verify job offers in Thailand with the embassy or the State Department for Diaspora Affairs to avoid falling victim to human trafficking schemes.
