PS NJOGU HOSTS DEPUTY AMBASSADOR OF GERMANY TO KENYA, GIZ-WIDU DELEGATION

Monday, August 18, 2025(NAIROBI)__Diaspora Affairs PS, Ms. Roseline K. Njogu, CBS, welcomed a German delegation led by Mr. Alexander Fierley, Deputy Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Kenya.

The delegation included the GIZ–WIDU team, represented by Mr. Bodo Immink, Country Director, and Dr. Christoph Zipfel, the incoming Cluster Coordinator of the Sustainable Economic Development (SED) Cluster.

The meeting provided an opportunity to review and strengthen ongoing cooperation between the Governments of Kenya and Germany, particularly within the framework of GIZ–WIDU, whose initiatives have significantly empowered Kenyan entrepreneurs, especially within the diaspora community.

The discourse focused on expanding collaboration under the Kenya–Germany Labour Mobility Partnership, a vital program promoting safe, orderly, and mutually beneficial labor migration.

The Principal Secretary reaffirmed the State Department’s commitment to deepening bilateral cooperation with Germany in areas that directly benefit the Kenyan diaspora and advance national development.

Both parties expressed their shared determination to build upon the strong foundations of the Kenya–Germany partnership for the mutual prosperity of their countries and peoples.

The meeting was attended by Ms. Fridah Kibuko, GIZ-WIDU/Country Coordinator; Mr. Boniface Munzala, Director/SIR; Mr. Edwin Limo, Director/L&P; Mr. Ledama Meisashi; and Mr. Abdilbasid Hassan, FSO.
