Thursday, August 7, 2025(NAIROBI)__On #DiasporaHour, PS Roseline K. Njogu, CBS, hosted three Kenyans: Mr. Danson Mukile and Ms. Grace Rienye, both residing in Texas, USA, and Mr. Tinny Mutali, also known as Choffuri, a Kenyan content creator.
The conversation focused on boosting diaspora involvement in national development, improving public service delivery for Kenyans living abroad, and using digital media to highlight the accomplishments and concerns of our global citizens.
PS Njogu reiterated the Government’s dedication to making diaspora engagement more responsive, inclusive, and impactful. She stressed that these dialogues are vital to establishing the diaspora as a key partner in Kenya’s transformation agenda. She also shared details of various ongoing programs and initiatives aimed at strengthening diaspora participation, encouraging investment, supporting ethical labor migration, enhancing access to services, and ensuring effective representation of diaspora interests.
An important topic that arose was the increasing role of culture and creativity in shaping Kenya’s national identity and advancing its soft power internationally. Recognizing the vibrant creative talent both locally and within the diaspora, there was consensus on the need to further acknowledge the sector’s potential as a strategic tool to strengthen diaspora diplomacy and extend Kenya’s global footprint through the universal languages of art and storytelling.
