PS HOLDS A REVIEW MEETING WITH THE LIAISON AND PARTNERSHIPS DIVISION

Friday, August 1, 2025(NAIROBI)__The Principal Secretary for Diaspora Affairs, Ms. Roseline K. Njogu,CBS, held a review session with officers from the Liaison and Partnerships Division led by the Director in-charge, Amb. Anne Wanjohi.
This division is part of the Welfare and Partnerships Directorate, led by Amb. Hellen Gichuhi,Secretary for Diaspora Welfare and Partnerships.
During the meeting, the PS emphasized the importance of the division taking a leading role in expanding partnership opportunities with both state and non-state entities. The goal is to foster active engagement that benefits Kenyans in the Diaspora and supports Kenya’s national interests.
In a brainstorming session that extended into the evening, PS Njogu urged the officers to fully understand their mandates and leverage their strengths to fulfill the Department’s overall objectives. She encouraged them to set a high standard in how the State Department, and by extension the Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, connects with Kenyans abroad.
PS Njogu highlighted Kenya’s pioneering efforts on the continent in government engagement with its diaspora population. She affirmed that the State Department for Diaspora Affairs (SDDA) possesses the expertise and capacity to enhance and elevate dialogues, making the Kenyan Diaspora not only the most vibrant in Africa but also globally.
She noted that nearly 60 diaspora engagements have been conducted at various levels, aiming to foster connections, listen to and address the concerns of Kenyan nationals living abroad.
This meeting forms part of a series of periodic sessions designed to review progress on past, current, and upcoming initiatives aligned with the Government of Kenya’s commitment to the Diaspora community.
