Thursday, July 31, 2025(NAIROBI)__Diaspora Affairs PS, Ms Roseline K. Njogu,CBS, today welcomed members of the Departmental Committee on Defence, Intelligence, and Foreign Relations, led by Chairperson Hon. Nelson Koech, MP (Belgut).
The visit was part of the committee’s oversight and engagement mandate, aimed at gaining a deeper understanding of Diaspora Affairs operations and strategic objectives.
During the meeting, the legislators received a detailed briefing on the Department’s programs, initiatives, and activities. Discussions highlighted progress in diaspora engagement, key accomplishments, and current challenges.
The lawmakers recognized the Department’s vital role in strengthening connections with the Kenyan diaspora and supporting their contributions to national development.
They also emphasized the importance of improved coordination between the State Department for Diaspora Affairs (SDDA) and the Legislative Arm of Government to more effectively address diaspora-related matters.
Additionally, the legislators were given a guided tour of several divisions and offices, including the Call Centre, the Counseling support room, and other support units, providing them with a clear understanding of how the State Department serves Kenyans living abroad.
