Monday, May 19, 2025(JERSEY)__Diaspora Affairs PS Roseline K. Njogu, accompanied by Hon. Lydiah Haika Munene, MP and Chair of the Diaspora & Migrant Workers Committee, and Hon. Bashir Sheikh Abdullahi, MP and Member of the Departmental Committee on Defence, Intelligence & Foreign Relations, National Assembly, paid a courtesy visit to Ms. Hilary Jeune, Deputy of the States Assembly in Jersey Island.

The conversation centered on enhancing collaboration between the State Department for Diaspora Affairs and the legislature to ensure effective representation and protection of Kenyan migrant workers, as well as exploring mutual interests in strengthening cooperation on diaspora matters and ethical labour mobility.

During the meeting, the legislators emphasized the critical role of Kenya’s parliamentary oversight entities-particularly the Diaspora and Migrant Workers Committee and the Departmental Committee on Defence, Intelligence, and Foreign Relations-in developing inclusive, rights-based policies for Kenyans living abroad.

The discussions reaffirmed the significance of cross-border dialogue in addressing common priorities related to global workforce development. #KenyaJerseyTies
