CONSULTATIVE MEETING ON STRATEGIES TO COMBAT HUMAN TRAFFICKING

Wednesday, April 23, 2025(Upper Hill, Nairobi)­­__Ms. Crystolyte Sanamanda, Executive Director and Founder of the Red Rope Movement, today, paid a courtesy visit to Amb. Ann Wanjohi, who was representing PS Roseline K. Njogu.

 

The discussion centered on the Red Rope Movement’s efforts in supporting Kenyan women trafficked to India by providing shelter, legal aid, and facilitating their safe return and reintegration into society.

 

The meeting highlighted the importance of tackling both the root causes and consequences of human trafficking.

 

Amb. Wanjohi reaffirmed the State Department’s commitment to continue collaborating with the Red Rope Movement to enhance the global fight against human trafficking, while also underscoring Kenya’s dedication to protecting its citizens abroad by ensuring their dignity, safety, and well-being.

 

This visit reciprocates a November 2024 meeting in India, where PS Njogu toured the Red Rope offices and observed the organization’s work first-hand.

 

Attendees included Mr. Eric Kavuma, Ms. Emma Gicheha (Director), Mr. Edwin Limo (Director), Mr. Ahmed Ketsane(FSO), Ms. Anne Kimani(FSO), Mr. Edwin Okoro(FSO), and Ms. Ann Njue(FSO).
