Wednesday, April 2, 2025(MERU)__H.E President William Samoei Ruto, Ph.D has lauded the Kazi Majuu programme, noting that it has positively impacted thousands of young Kenyans since its inception by the State Department for Diaspora Affairs.

During a visit to Nkuene, South Imenti, where he commissioned the Nkuene Primary Power Station, the President emphasized that the initiative will continue to receive robust support as part of broader national efforts to address unemployment.

Accompanying President Ruto was Principal Secretary for Diaspora Affairs, Ms Roseline K. Njogu, who highlighted the programme's benefits for youth in TVETs and other higher learning institutions.

PS Njogu underscored the government's three-pronged approach to tackling unemployment through the Kazi Kwa Ground, Kazi Mtandaoni, and Kazi Majuu initiatives.

She commended the government's efforts in enhancing last-mile connectivity of electricity to households, which will facilitate access to digital jobs.

In Meru County, the President laid the foundation for the Maua Market and announced reforms in the agricultural sector, a major employer in the region.

He also toured Tigania West, where he launched the construction of a Huduma Centre in Maua. This centre will streamline the application process for vital documents needed for the Kazi Majuu programme and other citizen-centric initiatives.

The President was joined by H.E Deputy President, Prof. Kithure Kindiki and other senior government officials during his tour of development projects in Meru County.
