Thursday, December 11, 2025(NAIROBI)__The State Department for Diaspora Affairs (SDDA) led by Principal Secretary, Ms. Roseline K. Njogu, emerged as a standout performer at the 2025 Chief of Staff and Head of Public Service Awards during the end of year Public Service Reflection and Agenda Setting for 2026 meeting
Diaspora Affairs secured three major accolades for excellence and transformative leadership.
The awards ceremony, held in Kisumu County, brought together top-performing ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs) from across the Kenyan Government.
The SDDA’s hat-trick of awards underscores its robust delivery on national goals and its innovative approach to engaging the global Kenyan community.
The Department was recognized in the following categories:
· Courage and Fortitude Award: Presented for showcasing exceptional talent and unique innovations in a highly competitive regional process, highlighting the Department's creative and strategic prowess on an international stage.
· Achievement of Unmodified Audit Opinion Award: Recognizing the SDDA’s exemplary financial stewardship and accountability, having received a clean audit report from the Office of the Auditor-General for the Financial Year 2023/2024.
· Leadership in Public Service Transformation Award (2025): Awarded for outstanding visibility in delivering the Department’s mandate through proactive stakeholder engagement and consistency in providing relevant, timely information to the public, thereby robustly driving the government’s transformation agenda.
The event celebrates exemplary performance across diverse fields and is a cornerstone of the government’s ongoing efforts to recognize MDAs that serve with dedication, in line with H.E President William Samoei Ruto’s Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA).
In brief remarks today, PS Njogu expressed profound pride in her team. “These awards are a testament to the relentless dedication and commitment of the entire SDDA team. Every day, they work tirelessly to serve and connect with Kenyans in the diaspora, ensuring their welfare and rights are protected. This recognition fuels our resolve to do even more,” she stated.
The triple victory places the State Department for Diaspora Affairs among the top-tier government entities leading through innovation, integrity, and effective public engagement, setting a benchmark for service delivery in the public sector.
