PS NJOGU HOSTS OFFICIALS OF THE KENYA DIASPORA COMMUNITY IN RWANDA

Tuesday, August 12, 2025(NAIROBI)__Diaspora Affairs PS, Ms. Roseline K. Njogu, hosted the Chairperson of the Association of Kenyans in Rwanda, Mr. Wycliffe Aganda, along with the Association’s Youth Representative, Ms. Philomena Mbura.

Mr. Aganda updated the PS on the concerns raised by the Kenyan diaspora in Rwanda.

In recognition of the International Youth Day, Ms. Mbura shared success stories of Kenyan students in Rwanda and highlighted their contributions to the host country and regionally, particularly in the technology and innovation sector.

The Principal Secretary emphasized Kenya’s growing status as a key AI and ICT hub, noting the recent launch of the Kenya National AI Strategy. She pointed out that virtual work opportunities that offer unique benefits for Kenyan students in across the border. Additionally, she underscored the SDDA’s Skills Transfer Programme, which aims to leverage the expertise and creativity of the Kenyan diaspora for the country’s development.

The PS also praised the association for its active role in engaging and integrating Kenyan students into the community dialogue.

Present in the meeting were Mr. Glenns Etyang, Deputy Director/OPS, and Mr. Komora Yesse, FSO.
