BUILD UP TO THE WORLD DAY AGAINST TRAFFICKING IN PERSONS

Tuesday, July 29, 2025(NAIROBI)__In the build up for the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons on July 30th, the State Department for Diaspora Affairs took part in an event focused on reintegrating migrant returnees into society.

Ms. Emma Gicheha, Director of the Welfare and Rights Division, representing Diaspora Affairs PS Roseline K. Njogu, highlighted the Government’s initiatives and measures aimed at making the reintegration process as smooth as possible.

The event, whose rallying call was stop human trafficking: return, recover, thrive, brought together returnees, duty-bearers, and stakeholders to develop practical protection mechanisms and targeted reintegration services.

Ms. Gicheha was joined by Mr. Edwin Limo, Director of the Liaison and Partnerships Division, and Ms. Jennifer Wanami, Assistant Director of the Skills & Expertise Division.
