CIB BANK’S DELEGATION COURTESY VISIT TO DIASPORA AFFAIRS

Thursday, July 17, 2025(NAIROBI)__Today, Principal Secretary for Diaspora Affairs, Ms. Roseline K. Njogu, hosted a delegation from CIB Bank on a courtesy visit to the State Department for Diaspora Affairs.

The visiting team included Ms. Daphne Maina, Deputy CEO & Executive Director of CIB Bank Kenya; Mr. Amr El-Taher, Head of Retail Distribution at CIB Egypt; and Ms. Maureen Muriuki, Relationship Manager at CIB Kenya.

The PS provided an overview of the State Department for Diaspora Affairs’ mandate and achievements over the past two and a half years, emphasizing its focus on diaspora protection, job placement, skills transfer, and facilitating investments and remittances to lower costs and promote diaspora-driven development.

She also proposed the creation of tailored diaspora products to foster trust, the introduction of a last-expense policy to support repatriation, and the establishment of a "Diaspora Launch Center" to assist returnees with investment facilitation and agency support.

In response, the CIB Bank team presented their range of diaspora-focused products, including savings, financing, mortgage, and investment options.

Both parties discussed opportunities for collaboration and partnership on citizen-facing services.

CIB Bank, regulated by the Central Bank of Kenya and licensed to operate in Kenya since 2017, has ambitions to grow across the East African Community using Kenya as a regional hub.

Also in attendance were Mr. Glenns Etyang, Deputy Director/OPS, and Mr. Felix Mbuvi, FSO-Liaison & Partnerships Division.
