Tuesday, January 20, 2026 (NAIROBI)__ The Principal Secretary for Diaspora Affairs, Ms. Roseline K. Njogu, held a consultative, strategic meeting with heads of divisions, departments, and units.
The meeting served as a critical mid-year review, with the leadership undertaking a comprehensive assessment of the Department’s performance, work plan, and key achievements for the first half of the 2025/2026 Financial Year.
Central to the discussions was a forward-looking agenda set by PS Njogu. She clearly outlined the Department’s immediate operational priorities and key performance targets, emphasizing a relentless drive for impactful service delivery and continuous improvement in support of Kenyans abroad.
The strategic meeting sought to consolidate gains from the previous operational period and accelerate the implementation of flagship programmes. These include diaspora investment facilitation, welfare protection, skills mapping, and robust engagement through digital platforms.
The discussions also reviewed the State Department’s engagement on key diaspora issues, including labour mobility, consular assistance, diaspora investment, and citizen protection.
PS Njogu emphasized the need for closer collaboration across the divisions, departments and units to improve coordination and deliver faster, more consistent responses to the needs of Kenyans living abroad.
The meeting concluded with a reinforced mandate for the senior leadership to finalize their second-half deliverables, ensuring Diaspora Affairs remains a proactive and responsive government entity dedicated to the empowerment and welfare of the global Kenyan diaspora.
