MHANDISI MAJUU PIONEER GROUP DEPARTS FOR GREECE TO WORK IN THE ENEGINEERING SUB-SECTORS

January 13, 2025, marked a significant milestone for Kenya as 16 Kenyans who secured opportunities in the engineering sub-sectors in Greece were seen off at a ceremony held in Nairobi.
The pioneer group, part of the Mhandisi Majuu program, will work on a contractual basis with a leading firm in Greece, participated in a pre-departure session that included an overview of the cross-cultural aspects of their host country.
The event, led by Amb. Hellen Gichuhi, Secretary for Diaspora Welfare and Partnerships, who represented Diaspora Affairs PS Roseline Kathure Njogu, CBS, was graced by Hon. Esther M. Passaris, the Nairobi County Women Representative, where the departing Kenyans shared their expectations and experiences while pursuing these opportunities.
In her address, Hon. Passaris lauded the participants for their determination to seek opportunities beyond Kenya's borders and encouraged them to work diligently, maintain discipline, and uphold values of hard work and integrity. She urged them to be exemplary ambassadors for Kenya and to proudly represent the nation.
Amb. Gichuhi congratulated the pioneer group on their achievement, highlighting their role in showcasing Kenya as a hub of professional skills and talent. She also shared insights into the mandate of the State Department and emphasized the importance of supporting one another during times of need.
The event was attended by Ms. Irene Karari, Director and Head of the Skills and Expertise Division, along with representatives from various agencies, as well as family and friends of the departing group.
