PS NJOGU EMPHASIZES IMPORTANCE OF INTEGRATION, COLLABORATION IN IMPLEMENTING KENYA-GERMANY LABOUR MOBILITY AGREEMENT.

Diaspora Affairs PS @roselinenjogu has reiterated the importance of integration and collaboration in the implementation of the recently signed Kenya-Germany comprehensive migration and mobility partnership agreement. The PS added that integration starts right here in Kenya, where those seeking to be included in the German labor space need to learn the host country’s language as well as their way of life. PS Njogu, through a recorded message, spoke at the Kenya-Germany labor migration job fair, exhibition, and conference 2024 themed "Connecting Kenyan Talent to German Opportunities," which was held at the Sarit Center, Nairobi. She also stressed the unity of purpose, especially for those who will be successful during the recruitment for jobs and apprenticeships in Germany, urging them to join diaspora associations as a way of connecting, networking, and keeping in touch with those they share common interests with. Ambassador Isaiya Kabira, Secretary of the Diaspora Investments and Entrepreneurship Directorate, represented PS Njogu at the event, which featured panel discussions and presentations focused on pathways to Germany, including opportunities and challenges, as well as the educational and economic systems of Germany and Kenya. The event attracted Kenyans from all walks of life and provided a platform for recruiters, institutions, exhibitors, and entities that will play a crucial role in the implementation of the agreement to converge and give valuable information and testimonials to potential employees, local recruiting agencies, and learning institutions. Notable keynote speakers at the event included H.E. @Diplo_Jazz, German Ambassador to Kenya, and Dr. Alfred Mutua, Cabinet Secretary for Labour and Social Protection. Others included Mr. Shadrack Mwadime, Principal Secretary for Labour and Skills Development; Dr. @Muoria_Dr, PS for TVETs; Mr. Dr. Monika Erath, Delegation of German Industry and Commerce for Eastern Africa; Mr. Horst Bauernfeind, Project Manager-GIZ, among others. Amb. Kabira was accompanied by Ms. @Ikarari, Director-Skills and Expertise at the State Department for Diaspora Affairs.
